My Story
I was born in Cape Town and raised in Durban, South Africa, in a home filled with the rich aromas of South African Indian spices and flavors. With an East Indian father and a mixed South African mother, I grew up in a vibrant blend of cultures that shaped the way I experience food, family, and community.
Durban curry wasn’t just a meal in my home—it was a tradition, a connection to my ancestors, and a way to bring people together. Moving to Maine, I found myself longing for those deep, bold flavors and the sense of togetherness that food creates. I quickly realized that many people around me were also craving something different—something real, flavorful, and rooted in tradition. That’s when Concepta’s Studio was born.
My Mission
At Concepta’s Studio, I want to bring the flavors of my heritage into your home. My handcrafted spice blends are made with ground spices, no additives or preservatives, and are completely gluten-free and dairy-free. Through cooking classes, curated dining experiences, and cultural storytelling, I want to share not just my food, but the traditions and stories behind it.
